a r c h i p e l a g o, in collaboration with Twenty 14 contemporary, presents Ouvrage, an exhibition looking at visual artists using the book medium as part of their practice. The exhibition aims to give a comprehensive overview of the dynamic artist books and publishing scene today. 

It brings together 70 books and a performance by Lalu Delbracio. They have been selected for their interesting approach to the idea of the image and for the way this is articulated in the form of the book. The works deal with aesthetical, sociological and political issues related to photography such as abstraction, image privacy and politics of representation. Through the choice of format, the treatment of images and their articulation via texts, these artists explore the many possibilities offered by the book as an art form.
